Slow Zones

SLOW ZONES highlighted in yellow on our trail map. All GREEN runs including The Bunny Hill and Buttermilk and the base area where all trails reach the bottom at Martock are considered SLOW ZONES. The biggest users of these areas are kids, families and beginners who don’t have great awareness of what skiers and riders may be doing around them. Kids and beginners also have a tendency to ski or ride erratically; stopping, turning and/or falling without warning or pattern.  Families and beginners can enjoy a safe, relaxed ski and snowboard experience without worrying about being too close to fast skiers or snowboarders.

SLOW ZONES are marked on the trail maps in yellow and may be signed with large SLOW ZONE banners. Please reduce speed and give slower skiers and riders the right-of-way. All skiers and riders must adhere to the Alpine Responsibility Code while in SLOW ZONES or any other terrain.

For more information on Mountain Safety, check out The PACE Penguin Program, Freestyle Terrain Safety.

Please Note: Skiers and Snowboarders caught skiing or riding in an uncontrolled and unsafe manner with excessive speed will result in the loss of their Day Lift Ticket or the suspension of their Season Pass.
