Mountain Coaster FAQ

What is the Martock Mountain Coaster?

A whole new way to experience Martock.

Our Mountain Coaster takes you through the woods on a track built into the natural terrain, with twists, turns and two tunnels along the way. You ride in your own cart and control your speed from start to finish.

How fast does the Mountain Coaster go?

The Mountain Coaster can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h.

You control your own speed using the cart’s braking system, so you decide how fast you want to take the ride. The coaster also features built-in safety systems, including automatic speed control.

How old do you have to be to ride?

Children must be at least 3 years old to ride.

Children who do not meet the requirements to drive their own cart may ride as a passenger with an accompanying driver who is at least 16 years old and meets all driver requirements.

Children under 3 cannot ride.

How tall do you have to be to ride alone?

You must be at least 1.37 m (54 in) tall to drive your own cart.

Riders who do not meet the minimum height requirement may ride as a passenger, provided they meet all other rider requirements.

Can two people ride together?

Yes. Each cart can carry up to two riders, provided all rider requirements are met and the combined weight is within the maximum permitted load.

The passenger must not obstruct the driver’s view.

What is the maximum weight per cart?

The maximum combined weight per cart depends on track conditions:

  • Dry conditions: 170 kg (375 lb)
  • Wet conditions: 150 kg (330 lb)

When two people ride together, the applicable limit is based on their combined weight.

Do I control the speed?

Yes — that’s part of the experience.

The driver controls the cart’s speed throughout the ride. Want to take it easy? You can. Ready for a little more speed? Let it run.

Either way, the coaster’s built-in safety systems help keep the cart within its operating limits.

How long does the ride take?

A typical ride takes approximately 5–7 minutes, depending on your speed and operating conditions.

Can the Mountain Coaster operate in winter?

Yes. The Mountain Coaster is designed for year-round operation, including winter.

As with everything on the mountain, daily operation is subject to weather, track conditions and safety requirements.

Is the Mountain Coaster safe?

Safety is built into the coaster’s design.

Riders receive instructions before departure and must follow all posted signs and operator directions. The driver controls the cart using the operating and braking controls, while built-in safety systems help keep carts within their operating limits.

Is the Mountain Coaster accessible?

Rider requirements are based on a guest’s ability to safely operate or occupy the cart.

Drivers must be able to operate the cart’s controls throughout the ride and follow all safety instructions. Riders must also be able to maintain the required riding position and meet applicable safety and evacuation requirements.

If you have accessibility questions, we encourage you to contact our team before your visit so we can discuss your individual needs.

Are there health or safety restrictions?

All riders must be able to meet the posted rider requirements, use the restraint system correctly and follow operator instructions.

Certain health or physical conditions may make the Mountain Coaster unsuitable to ride. Please review all posted safety requirements before riding and speak with a member of our team if you have any questions.

When does the Mountain Coaster open?

We’re getting closer.

Construction is underway, and we’ll share the official opening date, ticket information and everything you need to know before your first ride as soon as details are confirmed.
