Alpine Skiing
Ski Martock has snowmaking on 100% of our trails and we’re famous for our awesome snowmaking and grooming.  All of our trails are lit for night skiing. Martock offers terrain for every kind of skier. Most of our terrain is novice to high intermediate and groomed to perfection. Skiers can challenge themselves in our Terrain Park or Half Pipe or cruise the groomers. 

Martock was the first resort in Atlantic Canada to install a Halfpipe. Since then we’ve added an ever improving Terrain Park and in ’05 the Mini Park. Our goal is to provide features to challenge novice right up to expert skiers. Check out our Park & Pipe Page.

Rentals
Martock offers many rental options. Our rental shop stocks Twin Tips, Rossignol “Learn to Ski” Skis for beginning adults as well as skis for every skier from small children to the largest adult. Click here for all of our rental rates.

Instruction / Coaching
With almost 100 CSIA and CSCF certified instructors and coaches Martock’s Ski School is Atlantic Canada’s larget and highest certified. The Snow School has a lesson or season-long program to suit every age and every level of skier.

Since it was formed in 1980, The Martock Ski Race Club has provided high standards of coaching and programs.  Skiers from 6 to 60 and older can fun, competitive programs. The MRSC is also the home of competitive Free Style and Free Skiing. Check out the Martock Ski Race Club site for details

Martock also hosts training and competitions for Nova Scotia School Athletics Federation competitive ski program. Schools from the valley, South Shore and the Halifax Regional Municipality train and compete here at Martock. Click here for information on NSSAF competition and training at Martock.

Snowboarding
Snowboarding grown steadily since it started at Martock in the mid-‘80’s. Martock has produced 2 snowboard Olympians, Trevor Andrew and Sarah Conrad. Sarah competed in halfpipe at the ‘06 Torino Games and Trevor competed in the ’98 Nagano Games and in the ’02 Salt Lake City Games.  Alex Duckworth is leading the next wave with a Silver medal in pipe at the ’06 Jr. Worlds and an eye on the 2010 Olympic Team.

Terrain

Martock is Nova Scotia’s Boarder X center. We build Boarder X courses several times a season. These courses see competition for riders of all ages, from kids in RBC Riders events, to Nova Scotia School Athletics Federation competitions and the Nova Scotia Snowboard Association Provincial Series competitions. Rentals
Martock is also a pioneer in snowboard rentals. In 1987 we had 6 rental boards and one instructor In 2002 we have over 300 Burton LTR (Learn To Ride) boards and are one of only a handful of Burton Learn To Ride Centers in the world. The LTR boards are designed to make learning to ride easy. We also rent Burton Cruzers; these boards are designed to help riders make the jump from novice to intermediate and advanced smooth and comfortable. Check out our rental rates.

Instruction / Coaching
In 1988 we had one busy snowboard instructor, We have over 30 CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) certified coaches and instructors. Martock is proud to be a Burton Learn To Ride Center. We can provide a session or lesson in any and all aspects of snowboarding; park, pipe, carve or freeride. Cross-Country Skiing
Martock’s Cross-Country Park offers kilometers of trails through mixed coniferous and hardwood trails. With 100% snowmaking we have the ability to produce constant conditions even when Mother Nature can’t.  Our trails are machined groomed for classic and skate skiing.
